Re: New beasts - Sport vs Luxury I'm going to be honest, I probably shouldn't drive any of these cars. I would most likely end up in an extremely disheartening scene with me walking away from my totalled sports car that I just managed to wrap around a tree doing well over 100mph in a 35mph zone. With that in mind, I'm certainly not good enough of a driver for the GT3. While I absolutely love that car it's just too much of a race car and doesn't have stability control, which I'm certainly going to need. Plus, I don't live at the racetrack and it's just dumb to race that car around the roads. So that leaves me with the two AMGs and the Turbo. Sorry, but AMG just doesn't do it for me. The philosophy of putting the same engine and body kit on every car is just boring and while they're insanely fast cars, they just don't do anything for me. They feel just like a regular assembly line Mercedes, not what I want from my sports car. So that leaves me with the new Turbo. It's got AWD, variable turbo geometry and it's a going to be insanely fast but it does have more safety systems. Fast cars a great, as long as you can keep them on the road.

Re: New beasts - Sport vs Luxury Although my favorit benz, the CLS AMG has been updated and is now a very fast car I can't ignore Das Mesterwerk(the 997 Turbo) which is one of the things that have been on my mind the latest weeks. I love the look of the new GT3 and I think is very well design. Still the GT3 probably has a pretty ruff suspension and wouldn't be suitable as an everyday car. Ont he other hand the 997 TT is a supercar, luxury car and a racing car and offers the best from all worlds. There isn't a single scene where the car doesn't fit in. What do I think about the CLK? The car looks allright but has never charmed me and feel like a car for women. On top of that the CLS is a better looking coupe. 997 Turbo all the way.

Re: New beasts - Sport vs Luxury I actually voted on this over a year ago when I went down to the Mercedes dealer and the Porsche dealer and ordered a 997 GT3 and a CLS 63. The MB dealer did not know anything about the 63- I said, just take my deposit and put me #1 on the list. Last month the porsche dealer called to let me know 800 GT3RS would be made and some would come to america- I'm now #1 on their list for that. For me the turbo has become too soft. There's no real thrill to driving the 996 TT like there is with the older ones. I'm afraid the 997 will be similar: effective yes, exciting less so. I would like to continue my turbo collection with a 996 car, but they are so common I may have to keep my eyes open for a late GT2, especially since there won't be a 997 GT2
