Re: Motor Trend: M5 VS CLS55 AMG (Part II)

I'm not saying that the CLS looks better but it does have a very unigue style which has appeared to attract lots of buyer. It's that uniqueness that one wants when buying a CLS. Got damn the car is sexy.

Re: Motor Trend: M5 VS CLS55 AMG (Part II)

Both cars are very good...but I wouldn't choose either of them - the Porsche 911 is way, way better.

Re: Motor Trend: M5 VS CLS55 AMG (Part II)

911 isnt way way better. It's lighter so of course the better performer.

Hey guys look at the race track results on the fourth page down. Its very very interesting. It shows which car was carring more speed through the turns and it shows how far ahead in car lengths the M5 was at the end of the race.

Heres a funny thing. The CLS was faster around the MT figure 8! Go figure.

Does anyone have the Sport Auto CLS 55 times around the ring???

Well, I was talking from my personal bias of course - I personally like the Porsche way more than these two cars.

Different cars, M5 is more practical and more comfortable than a 911 but due of heigh weight and higher center of gravity, the driving dynamics isnt near a 911. So it depends on what you looking for.
Over at m5board.com we have members that own both the M5 and a 997 so their problem on which one to choose is solved

The car havent been tested around the ring but since Nordschleife is much about speed I guess the CLS55 will get a similar time as M5. Sportauto have driven CLS55 and M5 around Hockenheim, which is a smaller and tighter track. Time for M5 is 1.16,5 min and 1.17,8 min for CLS55, M6 does the same in 1.14,4 min..
