You knew this was brewing: Cayman S or M coupe??

There hasnt been any articles comparing the two cars but statistics show that both are remarkably similar. They both accelerate to 60 in 5 seconds flat but they achieve that in very different setups. The Cayman is a mid engine 3.4 litre boxer 6 cylinder that produces 291 hp. The M coupe is a front engine RWD 3.2 litre strait 6 producing 343hp. So which is better. Because Nobody has driven both cars, and we dont have any track times and other things to compare we might just want to look at style as the basis of choice here. Which car do you like better in terms of looks.

Re: You knew this was brewing: Caymen S or M coupe??

Simpel answer. Z4M Coupe, coolest bimmer alive today.

However if it was Cayman S vs Z4 3.0, porsche would be my choice but M is a different story.

Matt, Cayman is spelt with two a's - no biggie though...

Oh and my choice? Cayman S of course, despite it being too close to call from an objective standpoint.

Re: You knew this was brewing: Cayman S or Z4 Coupé M??

The cayman is hot. But I dont know if its worth more than the M coupe, (i think there is a 3k price difference). Too bad it doesnt have a limited slip diff like the M coupe, that gives a bit of track advantage to the Bimmer but it still will have trouble keeping up with the mid engine porsche IMO.

*^^yea i always mispell these threads *

Re: You knew this was brewing: Cayman S or Z4 Coupé M??

This is really tough. I haven't seen the Z4 coupes in person yet, so it's really hard to say. I'm not exactly in love with the styling of either of these cars. The Cayman is pretty good looking aside from the bubble roof that looks disproportional to the rest of the body. I don't care much for the front and sides on the Z4, but I do like the rear end of it.

I see you used a pic of the Cayman with bumperettes.

The Z4 is far superior in terms of looks IMO. The Cayman just doesn't appeal to me - very boring design.

Cayman. I like the Z4 coupe's rear but the front is as goofy as ever, and while the Cayman perhaps isn't the most exciting design in the world, it's still subtly aggressive and very harmonious.

Re: You knew this was brewing: Cayman S or Z4 Coupé M??

As much as I I'm a Porsche lover I have to say that I like the Cayman but as mentioned earlier it does look abit weird from the sides due to the roof line dropping too steep. Handling wise the car is untouched and is the car to buy for ultimate handling. On the other hand the M coupe offers pleasant amount of power and a very catchy exterior.
It would be absolutley to miss a M coupe when it passes by you. With all those lines plus the crazy shape the car is very unique and hipp. M coupe for me please.
