Re: EVO: RS4 vs M3 CS vs C55

Yeah, I bought this issue at the airport last week. A good read. I'd rather have the RS4 than the Bimmer, but if you asked me CSL vs. RS4 I'd have to take the CSL.

Re: EVO: RS4 vs M3 CS vs C55

Thx Just_me, that was an awsome read. The RS4 is awsome and of course a better performer than the E46, but it sure says a hell of alot about a car thats several years up and about to be re-done, and still competes quite well with the newer much more expensive versions. The next M3 will dominate the RS4 just as the next RS6 will dominate the M5. The writer still prefered the M3!!

Me too. Everyone can build a fast acceleration so sometimes its not worth mention acceleration, besides we already know how fast these cars are. This test shows that the M3 is hard to beat when it comes to driving experience. Going to be very intresting to see what the next M3 is capable of.

Re: EVO: RS4 vs M3 CS vs C55

Awesome post nicely editted Just_me. Thanks for all your trouble (and the kind compliment ) you know I'd give you karma, but sheesh you've gotten too much from me already!

I'm loving EVO at the moment. They've clearly managed to sustain their "Performance Car" appeal whilst injecting a no fuss, classy feel that is so glaringly absent in today's UK CAR mag. A great outcome for the M3 CS - but then I have heard from people in the know that it's the best compromise between stock M3 manual and CSL.

Hmmm, so EVO are obviously RWD biased. First they hand the 130i the win against a 2 second quicker R32 and now the same fate for the RS4 which bests the M3 by a full second and a bit around Bedford.

I'm particularly pleased to read that the V8 in the RS4 never feels strained or overworkerd - a big worry of mine given the engine mechanical characteristics - and I'm quite sure that whilst the M3 might thrill my socks off, the RS4 would be my real-world choice with its benign handling and meaty torque delivery.

Now Audi, just shut the f#$k up and gimme rear electric window winders. Yowzers, at that price I can afford the extra 1.5 kg.

Re: EVO: RS4 vs M3 CS vs C55

Martin, This is bad english coming from EVO. I have trouble understanding them

The way you can use the M3's tail to point the car into the apex is very effective, particulary through Bank and the last two corners. It would've have gone quicker had it not been delivered on new tyres."

Are they saying the M3 would be faster around the track if the tyres werent brand new?

Yes, they're saying had the tires had maybe 1000 or 2000 miles or something (whatever) on them they might perform better than brand new tires that weren't broken in.

Re: EVO: RS4 vs M3 CS vs C55

Whats an M3 CS? Like, what differentiates it between the normal M3, and the CSL?

Anyways, glad the M3 can still ROCK the comparos even against such a modern competitor like the RS4.

The ol' M3 will always be one of my favs.

Brand new tires don't have grip... when you break in a car, you break in the engine, brakes and tires (the latter for a few hundred kilometers)
