Oh I'm sure we all know they can make V10's... we all know without having seen any specs that the RS6 is going to be a monster. Plus they already have the S8. An S6 with a V8 would have been a better idea IMO.

well read this agian..
Its not the name S6.. now if i get it right a S modell audi is something more than a ordinary one with a bigger engine.. so i guess thats why it takes longer time to make..
and that production time is my problem..
this gap could be filled with a non S car.. cause the competition is just ordinary modells with bigger engine.. so why do audi need to make this a speciall modell ..
why not put all their time and effort into the RS..
Do you understand my point? its not about the name S6 for gods sake.. who cares what they call it.. haha

For some reason it didn't dawn on me that this was the S6 in this poll.

This is going to be one of the most lop-sided dead-pan poles I've seen. Not voting for the S6 means you have ALOT of love for the other brand's car, particularly the old E-Class.

The S6 on paper really does outperform, but given an equivalently powered 5-Series or E-Class and I wouldn't vote for the S6.

Audi has a problem with releasing more than one RS model in a short period of time that they have to get over. Releasing an RS6 very late in the life of the model is lame because the chassis is aged and the potential was there so much earlier. If the release of two different models of RS cars conflicts then just release them, don't delay.

That's what I thought was weird too.
Anyway, Yes I agree that the RS6 should come faster. They should have announced the S6 right at the start when they anounced the A6. But well..what do you do.

Not necessarily... this pole as well as the S8vs 750i vs S500 thread just do not make sense as these S models do not have a proper competitor yet. Like Chigga said, if they did have equivalent models, the Audi wouldn't have as many votes as they do. Personally, A6 is still at the top of my list though.
The equivalent to the S6 would be a 550is and an E50 AMG... problem is the Is would probably never happen, but AMG might.

Not going to vote on this until the E550 is out. The current E500 is toast next to a 420hp S6 and 367hp 550i.

S-versions are as necessary as AMG 65 versions.
