Will BMW Bow Down To The NISSAN GTR???

BMW, its time to step up to the plate. I have a really wild idea. How about you stuff that Twin-Turbo V8 from the X6 into the M3 CSL. Tweak the boost ofcourse. Add your new AWD system to the car and it will be ready to fight.

Check out the full test of the GTR. ABSOLUTELY SICK...Looks like the world will bow at the alter of the GTR....for now at least.

Sounds enticing... but I don't think BMW or many car manufacturers can achieve what Nissan has done with the GTR. Absolutely amazing car

Re: Will BMW Bow Down To The NISSAN GTR???

In the latest Auto Motor und Sport there is a Porsche RUF CTR 3: 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

Yes I know, a RUF, but it goes to show that in this day and age anything is possible. Besides, someone going for a Nissan GT-R is more interested in raw performance and bang for the buck. A Porsche is essentially in a class above the GT-R focusing on performance with a little bit of luxury thrown in, just a little bit.

Also, since when does the Nissan GT-R compete with BMW in general, say the M3?

i don't think anyone took them seriously at all. At first BMW were aiming at the entry level 911's when they were developing the M3. I don't think the GTR came into the picture at all... not until the CSL anyway and that would still be a huge task to beat.

I still don't think of the Nissan GT-R as a BMW or Porsche rival from a luxury and price POV. Maybe if Nissan made an Infiniti version of this car, then we'd be able to compare them.

I think the GT-R is a bit overhyped, too much "Porsche killer" none sense here and there. Its a very competent car but all the hype taints it's capabilities and performance.

What does the hype have to do with its ablilities?? The car came through everyway performance wise. There isnt anyway around that. It will kick ass in the wet AND the dry.

Re: Will BMW Bow Down To The NISSAN GTR???

No denying the fact that this car makes all the German cars short of couple of Porsches look slow. Forget what it does to M3, it makes the R8 look just plane silly for all that money.

Re: Will BMW Bow Down To The NISSAN GTR???

lol yeah.....The M3 doesnt even fit in the frame. Cars like the Porsche 911 tt, R8, Gallardo, have more to worry about. The GTR is truly the bargain of the century in terms of performance/price.
