| Re: Will BMW Bow Down To The NISSAN GTR??? If I were in the market for a GT car with the best available performance and few compromises on practicality, I don't see a better option than the GTR for less than 80K. I'm sure the brand whores will still pick the Carreras and the M3's and that's cool too, but from what I've read on the cars in this segment at that price point, the GTR offers the sharpest dynamics even though it's a cow. Apparently it hides its heft well. Either way, I'd take any of these cars, but I'd certainly take the GTR over the others. From what I've read so far, the car seems special. And that's coming from a DIE HARD M3 and 911 fan!!!!! ![]() |

| Re: Will BMW Bow Down To The NISSAN GTR??? GTR has got good reviews, good value, good performance but I'm not feeling the car, it doesnt exite me and not giving me any WoW feelings. Women and cars have something in common. You don't live with a woman if you dont like her, you need feelings or attraction if you want to live with her. Feelings/attraction are very important when you are going to buy a car, particulary sportcars. As long as I miss those feelings for the GTR I can't buy it. Numbers on a paper is one thing but feelings are far more important. The new Corvette ZR-1 is a more exciting product in my eyes and I would gladly pick it over a GTR. |

| Re: Will BMW Bow Down To The NISSAN GTR??? I can't believe that the Evo review of the GTR hasnt been posted yet. Its a good one! Strange thing is Evo have the same thing to say about the GTR as they have about the 135i that is tested in the same issue. |

Just like a woman, a car's beauty fades. I said this already, I don't think the GTR is the sexiest thing, it's borderline ugly IMO, but it has soul. It's not pretentious. The skin of the Vette was penned by an Italian, but nothing else. As great as a performer as I think it is, I think it's shallowness will become evident over years of ownership as long as cost control supersedes passion. My $.02 ![]() | |
