Autobild: BMW 135i vs Porsche 911

306 HP for 38.950 euro: BMW becomes ever more impudent. The 135i aims with its road performances at the Porsche 911. Only theoretically or also in the direct comparison?

"A Porsche loves curves, the BMW masters it. That is the difference!"

"The BMW is a mad car and also still many more favorable. But does not drive like a Porsche."

Buy the 135i now and buy the 911 in 10-20 years when you will be able to afford one.

Re: Autobild: BMW 135i vs Porsche 911

Stupid comparison. Someone who would consider buying a Porsche would never consider buying a miniature BMW coupe.

If it was 911 vs 3 series coupe i would understood but this...no way...

^^
They most likely just wanted to play around and test how a promising car compares with the benchmark.

Re: Autobild: BMW 135i vs Porsche 911

Like anyone seriously considering a 911 will say "perhaps I should go take a look at the 1 series." This is a stupid comparo.

Re: Autobild: BMW 135i vs Porsche 911

I don't think the comparison is to help people decide which one to buy, but to just compare performance. It is obvious the 911 is the better car, price no bar, especially around a track. But on the freeway, if I was a 911 driver, I'd be careful before racing a 135, especially since most of them are going to be moded.

Re: Autobild: BMW 135i vs Porsche 911

Comparison tests like this only does one thing.....elevate the status/desirability of the "underdog" (the 135i in this case) by showing how its performance is "close" to the performance of a much more expensive car that is much higher in status.

This is great press/publicity for BMW and the 135i.

This is similar to a previous test where the M3 was compared to the GT3....(I think?)
