Unless it is M6, Maseratti for me too. It is way better looking.

Re: [scans] AMS: BMW 650i vs. Maserati Gransport

the 6 series actually wins something for once, even though it is ugly and the maserati beautiful.

Re: [scans] AMS: BMW 650i vs. Maserati Gransport

6er needs a replacement soon, it looks bland and isn't aging beautifully at all. Anyone who can translate the synopsis? The Mazzi weigh 1922kg?? I never knew it was such a cow.

Re: [scans] AMS: BMW 650i vs. Maserati Gransport

I read this comparison at home. Based on looks alone, the Maserati just kills the BMW hands down.

AMS also complained about how the "high price tag costs the Maserati points": I don't think people in this class are gonna care if the Maserati is say $20K more expensive than the BMW 650i. That's peanuts to them.

its such a shame Maseratis isn't reliable (just ask Mirage) and other owners. Wonderful cars to look at and drive but you need cash and heart to own Maserati. They arent cheap to maintain either.

Well for anyone who wants something special, there is a high likelihood that the car would have some serious flaws - be it the price, the reliability or the drive... In Maserati's case, it has to be the reliability issue. Maseratis are cheap if you compare them with AM or Bentley, I guess that's a big plus why people buy Maseratis. The drive is also good.

The Mazza is a pig, Luw your eyes are not tricking you... It really is that heavy. It's a cruiser first, sportscar second. Maserati has made it very clear from the start that it's a GT.

For me, as a long term choice... The GranT just doesn't fit the bill. I can't live with constant headaches with breakdowns and what not (though it must have improved now).

All along I though this car offer the best of both world, luxury and sport. The E63 is 100-150kg lighter which is a lot considering that it even has four doors.

There is some luxury, and some sport, but more of the former. I'm not saying it's a bad performer... it after all has a Ferrari-bred V8 pushing 405bhp. It's just that the weight dampens its performance somewhat, and it isn't as quick you might think it would be. Wait for the 4.7L V8 coming out very soon. The GranT may then be more substance than show...

From what I heard, the GranT doesn't drive as well as the QP. I wonder why... It's the same platform anyway. Anyway, I think the QP is just a little heavier if not lighter than the GranT. How's that for a shocker! Maserati didn't care about weight when it built these new cars for the new clientele... It obviously is aiming at a different market now than it was before with the 4200GT & Gransport.
