Re: Top Gear: 997 TT vs Skyline GT-R

Thanks for the scans, Andreas. Though, you should have made it a poll too!

Anyhoo, it would appear this is yet another great praise for the GT-R. This car can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned.

For Europe & UK, yes. This is the release schedule according to Evo magazine:
Japan - December 6, 2007
US - mid-2008
Europe - March 2009

So plenty of time for Porsche to develop a response, if they haven't started doing so already. Then there is also the Evo version of the GT-R to consider, which will be a more direct competitor to the Turbo in terms of price.

Re: Top Gear: 997 TT vs Skyline GT-R

I've always been a 911 guy, no question, but the GTR puts a whole new spin on things: similar but more advanced trick AWD system, 7 spd DSG, TTV6 with more than sufficient power, understated but sporty looks, probably cheap to run, great handling and all at a fraction of the Porsche's cost. You guys know I'm a value shopper, so without much thought the GTR is the car that gets the nod from me.

Right.Considering how much time was spent by Nissan to develop and finalize this car,I´m not suprised with final results, wich are no less than spetacular Icon is back and kicking big time..Others will have to produce damn bloody good cars to even be near this space ship IMO .

Sport Auto has actually run a 7:50 round with the new GTR around the ring. Great work!
