My GF is flash and preffers smaller cars. She would buy one of these, and for what they are they will not be cheap as such. Cheap for a beemer or audi but not cheap for what they are.

Young girls will love these two, one more so for the badge though lol.

No need for you to try start another fight. You stick to the cars, not the "voters".
I wasnt having a go at the voters, just the majority of owners. If you wanted a small convertible what would posses someone to buy a 1 series?

Dont say RWD because my mum gf or grandmother couldnt care less.

Im sure women would preffer a mini convert, a3 or the eos.

Same reason why anyone want an A3 Cabriolet. A girl/woman who doesnt need larger convertible (E92,A4). Someone who is attracted to the design. Because of price. Because one of them offer a good engine. Or perhaps becuase one of them are to small for them.
Personally I wouldnt buy any of them, for me Cabrios are pointless cars and I rather buy one with a proper roof.
These two suits females or youngsters that want something flashy. There are many reasons why anyone would buy them.

I rather buy a EOS instead of A3 Cabrio, you get the same car but with a better design so why should I buy a A3 Cabrio? if the badge matters well then EOS is out of question. If I was going to buy a convertible then then the design comes high on the list.

That I don't have a problem with, after all looks and design are to a large degree subjective. What I found laughable was the suggestion that the interior is on a par with that of the A3 quality-wise, which it clearly isn't. I've spent considerable time in both and the former felt cheap and flimsy in comparison with the latter, although I do recognise that the BMW's recent facelift has helped close the gap a little.

Yes, the facelift made a big difference. I don't know why you feel the 1 Series interior is so much weaker than the A3's. I think they both have their strengths and weaknesses. For example the air-con controls feel cheap in the A3 and the iDrive screen in the 1er could look a bit more high quality...

You complain about air con controls. Talk about nit picky.

I created a vs a3 thread just like this one on another site and the audi is easily winning.

To quote one post:

"As I am BMW fan sadly I would have to say Audi just looks a lot sexier, and I could see more hot females driving this Audi over BMW."

Yes, that must be the definitive scientific proof as to which is the better car.

Well, for me there are just too many areas where evidence of cost cutting is clear. Hard, brittle plastics in some places, coarse textures and a general feeling that the overall fit and finish aren't as good as they should be for a premium sector car. This was noted by several reviewers when the was launched. Some of the instrumentation looks dated, the seats are nothing special, the glovebox is flimsy and things like plastic door pulls really let it down. Sure, it's all screwed together pretty well but the quality isn't outstanding and is certainly not class leading - there just isn't that reassuring feeling of solidity that one gets with the A3.

However, my opinion is based on the pre-facelift car and I do acknowledge that some (much needed) improvements have been made. It's a pity they didn't redesign the exterior while they were at it.

I actually prefer the rotary dials on the A3's climate control to the up and down buttons on the B6/7. They have a very positive action and feel anything but cheap to me.
