Who's only real advantage in a test comparison was a cheaper price, better equipped and a more refined engine (I considered the interior to be overrated).

Well you know all is forgive by me with Car and Driver. They've put the new S-Class ahead of any and everything it has faced in their comparos....lol.

Imagine my shock when the LS460L took last place in their last comparo!!!

I agree that Car and Driver is a pro-sport magazine. The name of the magazine should give that away. But Car and Driver is definitely not biased towards BMW since the 3 series is the only car in BMW's current lineup to have won a car comparison test. Car and Driver did love the previous generation 5 and 7 but the don't like the current generations. When they did their first review of the E65 7 they hated it.

Edit to add that Car and Driver was originally named Sports Car Illustrated, another hint to the pro-sport roots.
