| Re: 2008 Sport Sedans ^ Y'know, I think the world's most profitable car maker and experts in the realm of boxer engines in high performance cars may disagree with you. You may have heard of... Porsche? But ok, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt considering that they like putting the engine in the back! ![]() So yes, from a unique configuration point-of-view, Subaru are notable for their engineering prowess and steadfast commitment to a certain technological concept (possibly to their future detriment if they remain too committed to this particular layout...) What's in an interior? Fancy plastics and displays and buttons? What value is the interior if it doesn't last, or isn't comfortably functional, or starts to rattle and creak after 12 months? In my book it's worth jack. Subarus may not have the best looking interiors but man are they ever well screwed together! This is important to me because, I do drive a fair bit on rough, corrugated dirt roads and the interior fittings need to be up to the task. I can safely report that my two Foresters have held up very well in this respect! Oh, and I've personally done a number of new run-in trips for Subaru where I've done comfortably over 1000 km in a day. Tired? Yes. Sore? No. Pretty comfy driving ergonomics and seating then eh? I'm beyond admiring just the aesthetic or just the dynamic performance of a vehicle these days. These are part of a superficial layer and can create a false impression of superiority upon nothing more than a brief encounter. It's in ownership that the true merits of a vehicle's complete value proposition come to the fore. |

| Re: 2008 Sport Sedans Nothing. Mazda's own power figures are seriously modest. Finnish tech magazine 'TM' took Mazda 6 MPS for a test drive and they thought it felt more powerful than what was on paper. They put it on a dyno and got suprising results. Horsepowers went from 260 to 272, torque from 380 Nm to at least 425 Nm. ![]() |
