Re: Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG or Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet

SL..
why?
cause there aint no car in this class that does the open top game better than the SL.. and its damn old..

so the real wise choice would be to wait for the FL wich is here soon..
then its a landslide win..

PS
On the other hand if the open top thing wasent a factor..and it was the ordinary 911 TT..i would pick it over almost any of the competition

I voted for the SL 65 AMG!!! I love the design of the car, the engine...everything is just perfect! Nevertheless I would also go with a SL 55!

Re: Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG or Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet

I love the Porsche 911.

But, I don't know why, I don't like at all the Turbo-version of the 997.. I don't like the look it has, the wheels are not well-designed and are too big, so the car appears to be too short, the front bumper is way too complex and makes the front overhang appear too long... I don't like the noise it makes, a Carrera is also much better from that point of view.

In one word... A 997 Carrera is one of the best looking cars on earth, absolutely love it.
But the Turbo is too heavy, without beeing much more aggressive, don't like at all. And I know what I'm saying: there is the very same car often parked near where I actually work: dark grey 997 Turbo Cab...

Whereas the SL... What can I say? It is sex on wheels.

I would wait for the face-lift though, always better to have the newest!

911 Turbo is a sportcar and not a cruiser so my choice is the Benz but I rather pick SL55 over SL65.

My thoughts exactly, but since the SL65 is the SL here I'd go with the 911. A SL55 w/030 pack is the best luxury GT roadster going IMO.

Also, we should be using the latest SL65 pics, not the pre-facelift version. Guess it doesn't matter since the SL is currently winning the poll.

The Merc look like a mouse..
I've would have taken the Porsche in a heartbeat!

But of course there is always a Gallardo Spyder

Edit: An old and grey mouse in fact!
If it just had the looks of a new CL63... or if the CL63 was a cabrio

After much deliberation, I went with the SL65.
