Re: Motortrend: M3 vs C63 vs RS4

As much as a technoligical masterpiece as the V8 in the M3 is you would think BMW engineers would have pleased the enthusiast a little with an engine compartment that looks the part. With that said the top of the M3 engine seriously looks like a garbage can lid.
Audi really nailed it as far as the asthetics of an engine compartment, the Mercs looks nice too.

Well, I think it looks OK. Not the best-looking perhaps but the engine cover aesthetics hardly are a crucial factor for a customer.

Well, the RS4's motor is here like a bunch of snakes ready to bite you to death... The big C63's motor throns here like the king ready to declare your death...The M3's motor looks nothing really impressive.

The three are really fabulous cars though!!!

Haha, like a garbage can lid.. didn't your teachers ever teach you to not judge a garbage bin by its lid.. .. or was that don't judge a book by its cover..

Anyhow, you're right bum-man, when your RS4 or C63 unexpectedly breaks down and you're forced to pull to the side of the road, when you pop the hood you at least want to be greeted with a nice looking engine bay... right

Re: Motortrend: M3 vs C63 vs RS4

It's important that you don't find too much trash when youpull up the lid and by M3, there ain't no trash at all.

I'm not sure if the same could be said for Rs4 & C63...

j/k of course.

Re: Motortrend: M3 vs C63 vs RS4

I still think in the hands of the average driver the C63 would be the clear winner. (thats one of the reasons ive ordered one ) and i can only imagine that the majority of forum members are not race drivers and skilled up like Mr Schumacher. and are in fact average drivers (waiting to get shot down )

With regards to to the engine bays all current BMWs are underwhelming. My 335d has a big black plastic cover over the engine bay and looks crap. The M3 is no different.

And if the situation was reversed i bet my last GBP you 'BMW lovers' would be using the exact same argument to wind the opposition up

Re: Motortrend: M3 vs C63 vs RS4

Again, who gives a damn for the cover? I see it only few times a year, so what's the problem? My 535d has this one:

Ugly? Certainly not. But i'm not thinking about it at all.

And no, i wouldn't bitch about it if it was otherwise...
