Even after expainations were given (or are simply excuses?) the result is the same.
So whats your point? No one is disputing the fact that the incident was an embarrasment. But now your saying even though the system may be fine, the fact that there was this mishap makes it crap?

But what the others are saying is BS I think, about the nightvision. Tell me what difference itmakes if you are driving or not? The range still sucks and you still have to look down to the instrument cluster.
The difference is that the system is not activated below a certain speed. How can you judge a system when its not even in operation? What you're saying is akin to thinking "My computer is doesnt do much when its turned off, so it must be crap?" How does the range suck? MB are not claiming that its some miracle fix all to any night time accidents, but rather a big step in the right direction.

What people don't understand is all these developments are in the interest of improving safety and comfort. At this stage these systems are not there to take complete control of the car and fully make up for driver stupidity or incompetence. They are driving AIDS.

So I guess you must have similar feelings about the BMW system?

What do you mean it doesn't work at a certain speed? Did you see the 5th gear episode? The range was quite mediocre actually... why would it make sense that the range increases as speed increases?

As for the BMW, I think it has the same problem, you have to look down... if however, they incorporated it into a heads up display, then I would be all for it.

Regarding the price you must also consider the fact that the S-class will have the best resale value (by far) which makes the price more justifiable.
It depends what the buyer wants. Do you think the 3er is the best car in its segment? For example, ask someone that doesn't like the look of the 3er, that alone is enough to make them chose the A4 or C-Class.
It's only the best depending on what you want your car to be, simple as that.

As a member has posted, the manual clearly states that night vision activates only above 15MPH or 15KMH, im not sure which one. When they showed the night vision on video, the car was at a standstill, so clearly the system would not have been active. And even then, while one of the journalists involved said that the system wasnt good (because he didnt even see it in operation) the other who had seen it in operation on several other occiasions said that it worked very well.

Although people have different taste it doesn't change that some cars are better than others. For example the CGT being a better sports car than the SLR.

Re: S350, 730i, A8 3.2 FSI

I dont really care if S-class is the best since I would never consider a car in this segment. ITs weird that I would choose A8 over 7er, although Im a BMW fan
BMW has one model that beat the others in sale, the 3er. As long as its on the top in sales, then its okey that MB sell more S-class than 7er.

BMW has a top seller - 3er
MB has a top seller - S-class

What does Audi have?
