Re: S350, 730i, A8 3.2 FSI

Depends on the buyer. Thats the problem with objectively ranking the cars in magazine comparisons, it is NOT and objective category. You can try to rank value, but just as people have expressed in this thread, its hard to gauge it properly. Price cannot be discounted in a comparison, but at the same time using it as a deciding factor in certain segments is worthless if the shopper is willing to pay for the vehicle.

Then that is your choice, like I stated above. Of course my original comment was to those that at least LIKE the S-Class to begin with. If you don't like the car then no amount of superiority will fly with you obviously.

Re: S350, 730i, A8 3.2 FSI

The S class hasn't convinced me that deserves the victory. In sound insulation it was measured to be the same with A8 and 7 series , in driving terms it looses to 7 and A8 and the only aspect where it is superior is the comfort. Also i don't see why it gets more points for safety since the new night vision has gotten bad reviews and the distronic failed to work when tested causing three S class to crash into each other.
So no matter how you see it A8 is the best even if it has the same price with S class.

well its like nike, if you compare 2 t shirts, say one unbranded one and a nike t-shirt....is a nike t-shirt worth all the extra money? most people want to be seen in branded items, and with the s class it has such a history or success they can just keep putting the price up more and more and seeing as it has like a 95% customer royalty rate it is going to keep going up i guess, but then the w220 was quite cheap in comparison to its predecessor wasn't it

lol using a T-shirts is a bad example . Everyone can afford a T-shirt, everyone cant afford a S-class

well...the night vision....you have to drive over 15kmh and the reviewer was parked lmao
the s class crash, well they could hardly have simulated fog outside, everyone makes mistakes.....if it didnt work in the real world i dont think it would still be an option because s class owners would be the first to sue them...

SBC also had to work properly cause Mercedes would had a lot of problems but it didn't. Horror stories are all over the MB forums.

My god where do you get this bs?

I hate to feel like I have to ignore your comments but this proves it. Did you actually read the article Yannis? It was a simulation with a idiot magazine editor at the wheels of the car. He was supposed to stop the car and simulate what the system would do. The system wasn't even activated because Mercedes told the magazine that it would not work in their test hall. The system DID NOT FAIL Yannis, the only failure here is you not having read the article and/or understanding what happened.

I'm still waiting on you to admit that you simply don't like Mercedes because you hardly ever make any sense when you try to bash Mercedes. You still think Mercedes' have as poor weight distribution as Audis too I bet.

It amazes me how in the same post you can look to reviews about the S-Class and claim things about sound insulation and what not, yet you point to a bogus test of Distronic, when those same reviews of the S-Class have shown that Distronic works in the real world. Every magazine across the world has driven the new S-Class and not one of them reported that Distronic didn't work. Now if you have a magazine review that says different I'd love to see it, otherwise you're just bs'ng again.

M
