Re: Performance Car of the year 2005 - your choice?

Its hard to see why the M5 would win against Ferraris and such as well....

Perhaps it is a great car and the engine is awesome, but its not the best performance car. There are many cars that out perform the M5 on that list. I guess there are lots of M5 fans here.... which is okay.

Personally, i felt the Z06 was the best all around performance car, i guess many felt the same about the M5.

Re: Performance Car of the year 2005 - your choice?

My choice and why.

- M5, probably the most hyped car 2005.
- When the M5 came carmags compared it to F430 and several other true sportcars.
- M5 is practical, comfortable and 4 (even 5) persons can travel at the same time.
- Its a 4-door-car
- It has an attractive price.
- First family car with V10
- Three different suspensions settings
- SMG, first familycar with 7-gears
- Its capable of racing with true sportcars
- Topspeed 328km/h
- Handling is so good that Porsche owners will have a surprise
- More engine awards than any other car 2005
- Many other awards 2005 (for instance performance car of the year.)
- M5 E39 was a great car but BMW managed to make M5 to be even greater car

I dont care if people dont agree with me but my question was "Performance Car of the year 2005 - your choice?" I didnt say this thread was only about acceleration and handling. I stated my reasons above, there is no wrong or right just my thoughts and explanation why I voted for M5.

I created this thread and I never said this thread was only about vote for best handling car or fastest acceleration car.

Re: Performance Car of the year 2005 - your choice?

yeah ppl make up own interpetations of everything.. look at MB with calling the CLS a coupe.. ppl should not be so angry about it.. maybe its a coupe in their eyes.. like the M5 is a performance car in your eyes

Re: Performance Car of the year 2005 - your choice?

i voted for the m5 because it is a great all around car/ amazing performer. But just to get this straight this would not be the car i would get if i wanted a high performance sports car(which i think should be a two door car) so i would have to go with the porsche or the zonda even though its not the pretties to the eyes
