Both more capable sports cars then BMW's top performers. I believe BMW needs to address this.
I agree and if for no other reason other than getting a chance to see what BMW would come up with to combat the seemingly endless parade of sports and supercars being brought to market now. If all this talk about the next Mercedes sports car being an R8 competitor is true, I don't know how BMW can resist not doing one also. BMW, moreso than any of the big German brands (except Porsche) should have a real sports car in their lineup, IMO. It would fit their image perfectly. All this about profits and them not needing is just excuse making. No one needs a sports car and BMW being one of the best run companies on earth can surely figure out how to make a profit on a sports car!

But that is what is so cool about BMW, their entire range is sporty. If you can't afford the M3, there is the 1er and if not that, the Mini cooper S. None of them might be an R8 or SLR, but they are all sporty and what do you know, may be even more fun to drive - as long as you are not power crazy and all about figures.

I know I'm late to the party but...damn that CLK looks SOO much better than the M6.

Either way, I'll take the CLK-BS over the M6. but I wouldn't take the normal CLK63 over the M6 though.

lOl, this is a smashing victory for MB.. I`ve said it before. Give credit where credit is due!!

Id buy this BS in a heartbeat as well, my only complaint about the CLK-BS is that it doesn`t have a back seat. I wonder would MB comply if you requested one.

I bet I can have just as much fan with a M3 as with a SLR. It least for those who appreciate things than just straightline performance.
Im kinda sad that people think many horses automaticly is more fun to drive than a weaker car.

I've driven the Z06 and M6 and got a ride in many other 400-600hp cars. And I driven -200hp cars that are more fun to drive than +200hp. I have had my share of rush. I dont underestimate rush in the SLR but my experience tells me that the car with most horses isnt always the most fun car to drive. And since I know "rich" people that driven more sportcars than you and me feel the same.
