Re: Edmunds Inside Line - 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series vs. 2007 BMW M6

This is true and exactly why BMW NEEEDS a supercar..
they cant have the M6 at the top..as their crown jewel..its not enough in these times..
so i guess its time to put the A game on BMW..

Re: Edmunds Inside Line - 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series vs. 2007 BMW M6

I like how all the brand nuthuggers come out when their favorite car doesn't win a comparo...

I like those rims on the M6, they do look better than the ones on the CLK.

The wording from the test doesn't hint much at bias, but I would like to see more comparisons to get a better perspective. One comparo loss really doesn't mean much, both cars are amazing driving machines. Also, those 0-60 times look pretty mediocre for both cars...

If its me you talk about. its no excuse, just pure facts. I dont find these two competitiors, one is more trackoriented and the tires proves this and the other one is a car that take you fast A to B with comfort in mind.
So your so called excuses I find it unnessecary to say since I would say the exact same things even if the M6 won.

I know the R8 is underpowered and the soon to be released V10 makes more sense but I think the R8 might just do the damn thing!!
the R8 has beaten cars like 997 GT3, Z06, 997TT, Viper, F430. Noway the M6 is going to beat a R8.
It would be a lot more inresting to compare R8 to CLK63 Black Series.

Yeah sure. It is no big deal I'm used to this now. Facts, excuses etc, same thing = why the victory for a MB is invalid or hallow. Now the M6 is the car with comfort in mind....oh my. My how the tables have turned.

I*m not questioning the winner. I have stated it so many times before, winners mean shit to me, it good for bragging rights, thats all. Im just explaning why the CLKBS gots so good numbers. If you dont agree on that, thats okey cause I know fans easily get blind when their favorite brand is involved.

Have you ever driven a M6, if not come back when you have. The comfort beats many sportcars. Im not saying its only comfort but the car has a great doze of comfort and sport for that matter.

Yeah they sure do when their brand doesn't come up the winner. Now I have to ride in a M6 before I can talk? WOW. Uh...the M6 should be more comfortable than many sports cars considering it is a GT car and not a full-on sports car. As far as regular cars...the M6 is a 100K BMW it should be more comfortable than "regular cars". You say this as if it is astonishing or something, its pretty much common sense. For you to have to resort talking about comfort in the defense of a BMW speaks volumes here. Like grasping at straws IMO.

Finally you say its a GT which I stated earlier . Bravo! I understood it like you meant the M6 was an uncomfortable car to drive, sorry if I missunderstood you. Lol, Im not using comfort as a defense, again, its only facts, you make this thread bigger than what it really is.

I have explained why the BS got good numbers now the thread is changing direction and you lead me to it.

Merc, this discussion shows that you are a true MB fanatic

Thing is Just_Me the CLK is a GT also, both it and the M6 are nothing more than breathed on versions of regular models.

Of course I have to mess with you true BMW fanatics every once and a while. A Germancar sibling rivalry if you will.
