Re: Autocar: S5 vs. 335i

I am quite surprised nobody mentioned the huge quality gap between both cars. 335i is a great concept and COULD rule his world. BUT permanent squeaking in the interior? weak quickly tired brakes? I was thinkink about 335i as my next car but now I hesitate. I know a person who sold his 335i a month after he bought it. He meanwhile still owned his E46 325i and had direct comparation. He was shocked by quality decrease. He says E46 is much more solidly built car. BMW saved money on the wrong place. And I hear this from a lot of owners of E90. Dissapointment with the quality. What is your experience/opinion?

and I know guys that say the opposite about E90 vs E46 and I also know people having problem with interiors in their Audis like sqeeking materials. Audis inteirors are well-built but the quality isnt better. I know MB owners with rust problem and electronical problems. No car is perfect.
Its incredible how people have different experiences with cars.

PS E90 is getting a facelift soon with improved interior materials, just like E60 and E87 had when they got facelifted.

Re: Autocar: S5 vs. 335i

Its strange but I probably like the simple (no navi/i drive screen) more than the "perfect" interior of Audi. But I hate squeeks in my car. I have to feel that everything is built well. Maybe an interior facelift of E92 may be the way to my new car

just open and close the 3 series' door and youll know the quality is good...

Im not surprised to see the vic go to the 3 here at all-especially on short circuits like this one. However it seems to me that on a track like the nurb, the S5 would probably take it.

I don't think a facelift for the E92 is coming anytime soon. It hasn't been on the market long enough for a facelift.

The door on a VW polo is heavier/ has a higher quality feel and closing noise than a beemer. Infact a beemer reminds me of my Ibiza door. Audi/VW doors are much beefier.

Also 335i BMW in the UK loose £10,000 of their value in 9 months. Make of that what you will. The audi TT however only looses like £3 grand in a year.

Dont be silly man. Have you tried the door of the polo? The door on the E90 is bloody light no heavier than my ibiza. I was really surprised when I felt it. But then you wouldnt know because you dont have Ibiza's or Polos in your country. So much for your credability, speaking about something you dont know

And if you dont believe me on how much money BMW 335i SE's lose just check the second hand resale values directly from the BMW UK website
