Re: AMS: BMW X5 4.8i vs. Porsche Cayenne S Awesome, I was about to scan this myself as well ![]() Here is the short summary in English: 1. BMW X5: 485 points 2. Porsche Cayenne: 462 points BMW; There is no big SUV as dynamic as the new X5. The safety is top as well. Downsides are the stiff suspension and high fuel consumption. Porsche; Agile as well, but less so. Safety is good too. Comfort is decent and costs and consumption are 'gigantic'

Re: AMS: BMW X5 4.8i vs. Porsche Cayenne S I hope they test a X5 with active drive one day, everyone tried it says the X5 is more comfortable with the extra option active drive than without it (correct name tycoon?)

Re: AMS: BMW X5 4.8i vs. Porsche Cayenne S That X5 sure has an excellent interior. Exterior migh not have changed that much, but whatever they did, it worked. The interior though, just beautiful. IMO easily the best looking interior in any current SUV

Re: AMS: BMW X5 4.8i vs. Porsche Cayenne S well, this is my first post. I can see everyone is pro-BMW, but I had to say the Cayenne won my heart! I had ordered the all new X5 4.8 for about 3 months, the BMW salesperson kinda neglected me, hes just way too busy out there and after new customers (the 3.0 ltr model is extremely popular, its damn annoying to the extend where you bump into so many people wearing the same shirt in the same restaurant). At this stage, I never actually looked at the Cayenne because everyone is creating a lot of noise about the look and how expensive it is to run this car. I test driven my neighbor's Touareg V10. It was nice, but lose its oomph after you hit 70kph. My other friend convinced me to check the salesperson he dealt with in Porsche Centre. The rest are just details, I rang the bastard and got my deposit back. The Cayenne S I'm getting is the 2008 model, black with tiptronic S and air suspension plus 21 inch rim (no PDCC, cost too much!) I have never look back ever since!

Re: AMS: BMW X5 4.8i vs. Porsche Cayenne S Hey Hazza, welcome aboard! Glad to see a new member from a different part of the world. Hope your participation on GCZ grows ![]() Well the porsche cayenne S is indeed an excellent off-roader. So did u just decide to go for the porsche because of the lousy service u got from BMW? WHat else motivated you to go for the porsche?
