Its actually not that far off, a 300C SRT8 has 6.0lt v8 with 425hp and 570Nm of torque and goes to 0-60 in 4.9s. It's RWD and weighs 4190 lbs, where as the S8 is AWD and weighs 4277 lbs.

So strictly performance wise theyre not that much different, Quality and overall package wise, its a whole different story.

I remember they tested the SRT8 on Top Gear, and they absolutely hated the car. It had no grip whatsoever and was terrible to drive. So I guess the S8 would be doing rings round it on the track

Well, that would be plain stupid if Porsche made a "boxy" 4 door sedan, instead of a sedan with a rather more aerodynamic shape, like this of the MB CLS.

No, im not going to give it a break. I mean come on, were talking about a 70k+ dollar car here. I am telling you what i saw at the auto show-the rubber sealing was falling apart and hanging off the front door. It looked really crappy.

And just because you dont have a sloping c piller doesnt mean the design cant be aerodynamic. I would be willing to bet that BMW's M5 is mroe aero dynamic than mercs CLS i can fetch some numbers if you like.

Drag coeficients: (Couldnt find the CLS' numbers but heres another car...)
.30 – BMW E60 M5
.31--BMW E63 M6
.35 – Jaguar XKR, 2007

Just an example of how a sedan can be just as (or more) aerodynamic than a coupe.

Re: The One Car You Absolutely Hate

Not that I really care for the little argument you guys are having - Matt can hate the CLS if he wants to - but here are a couple of numbers:

CLS drag coefficient: .30 ( - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER)
M5 drag coefficient: .31 ( - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER)

The drag coefficient of the CLS is 0.30 That's better than that of the M6 and Jag XKR!

Well, the M5 proves that a sedan can be as aerodynamic as a coupe. However, just imagine how a "boxy" 4 door sedan Porsche would like and how a 4 door coupe Porsche.

I thought with drag coefficients a bigger number was better?

Re: The One Car You Absolutely Hate

While we are talking about Aerodynamic Drag Coefficients.

The fourth car which I absolutely hate

...has a coefficient drag of .19 Yet I shall not post in this thread, and I would never ever call it good looking, I never liked it and I probably never will.

Now I ask you all, what is the point of this bickering about one car being more aerodynamic than another? Wasn't the great Enzo Ferrari who once said that Aerodynamics are for people who can't make engines?

But above of all else, I would like to know since when this has become a thread about your top 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 cars you absolutely hate? As far as I know, this thread is about only ONE, UNO, UM, EIN, car you absolutely hate.

That means, that out of you top 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 cars you hate, you have to pick only ONE of your list to then post in this thread. I already did... see page 4 post #33.
