Re: AutoZeitung: Audi A4 cab 3.0 TDI Quattro vs BMW 330d cab vs MB CLK 320 CDI cab

I read this in the store, 330d little faster up to 180km/h and about 4 seconds faster than CLK around a track. Just shows how "old" CLK is getting.

CLK 320 CDI is faster then I thought... ...and it is still very good looking. I think this would be my choice between these three convertibles.

Fortunately, there are a lot of car companies, who offer different types of cars for different types of persons.

But what if you had the fortune to testdrive all three here and you found out that the E93 suited you the best. Would you still choose CLK becuase you happen to like the exterior better?

Re: AutoZeitung: Audi A4 cab 3.0 TDI Quattro vs BMW 330d cab vs MB CLK 320 CDI cab

Nothing spectacular here. Folding hardtop is a huge advantage. I'm sure E93 will be a winner also after A5 cabrio & new CLK cabrio are introduced - under condition of coming with canvas roof.

BMW are very serious here. For the next gen of Z4, Z8 & 6er cabrio folding hardtops are seriously considered. And will make it into production - except in case something really goes wrong (eg. if driving dynamics - especially in M variants - is affected too much).

So only low-end models (Z2 & 1er cabrio) will get canvas, while other models are (planned) to get folding hardtops.

What would that mean for CLK, SLK & SL?

MB surely wouldn't let BMW get away with being the only Hardtop offering. Next generation CLK HAS to have one.

Better be so. Otherwise CLK (same case with A5) will be in serious troubles. I've also heard Lexus delayed IS cabrio launch due sending the car back into development - to develop folding hardtop instead of planned canvas one.
