Re: 2008 Updates for Lexus GS

I cannot believe Lexus didn't give the GS460 the full 380hp that the 4.6L makes in the LS460. Talk about a missed oppurtunity. The GS350 is still the best bet in the GS lineup.

Edit: They took away the 4.6 liter's direct-injection for the GS. Strange.

Agreed.

Yes, indeed they did. What's interesting about this is that this is the exact engine which Middle Eastern LS460's are fitted with; right down to compression ratio to horsepower.

Re: 2008 Updates for Lexus GS

^^ I think it's cool!

If you hadn't noticed, that is a GS450h and like the LS600h, the emblem is finished with a slight blue
tinge. However, the lighting system is a new update for 2008 - unless Lexus photoshopped the picture.

Not much of a facelift, but then than's not surprising considering it's Toyota. Not keen on those signals lamps in the mirrors.

2008 Lexus GS Range Update (minor facelift)

I think this is a minor facelife, not that anyone will really notice. It has side indicators in the mirrors as well as a new grill which overlaps the reshaped inner headlights. It looks a bit messy IMO.

Lexus updates the GS range
New GS 460 featuring a 4.6L V8 with 255 kW and 8-speed automatic transmission
Strengthened sports driving characteristics: Active Stabiliser system and run flat tyres
Further improving dynamics: the GS 300 equipment is now enhanced with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS)
Stronger visual differentiation for the GS 450h with new hybrid badges, blue detailing and a new exterior colour, Black Opal, unique to Lexus Hybrid Drive
Exterior and interior design changes across the range
Launched in 2005, the third generation GS was the first production vehicle to feature Lexus' radical L-finesse design philosophy, combining distinctive, elegant styling with peerless interior refinement and highly engaging driving dynamics.

With global sales exceeding 100.000 units to date, the success of the GS has been further bolstered by the launch of the GS 450h, which introduced the company's Lexus Hybrid Drive technology to the model range in 2006. Reinforcing the significance Lexus customers place on hybrid drive technology, the GS 450h occupies an increasingly prominent position, currently representing over 40% of European GS sales.

Not sure about that front grille yet, but I like the lowered rear bumper. Still a fantastic looking car though.
