| ![]() ![]() ![]() In the German elk test, The Land Rover Defender flipped, doing only 60 km/h - trying to avoid an elk in the road. The test blames the bad weight-distribution, bad shock-absorbers and that it's very hard to get a feel of what the front wheels are doing.. The brakes is also reported to be "the worst brakes on a car -ever". The Germans criticize : - no ESP (stability system) - no Airbags, even after the last refurbishment of the model Other cars that have flipped over in the Elk-test is the Suzuki Jimny, Dacia Logan - and the most famous one: The Mercedes-Benz A-klasse - in 1997. It's a 59 year old car victim of the British disease what Jeremy Clarkson cleverly described as "Mini Syndrome". Over the years, the United Kingdom have developed an unfounded obsession for "traditions". |

| Re: The "No shit Dr. Obvious award" goes to... the Germans! ![]() I like the way the Defender looks -- they should fix its problems -- and modernize it. It's the closest thing to a G class there is ----so it must be cool. ![]() ![]() |
