  | Renault-Samsung QM5 (Koleos) SUV - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER The wraps have come off a new SUV model formed from the partnership between carmaker Renault and electronics giant Samsung. The new model is called the QM5 and will be going on sale in South Korea early next month. A slightly revised version will be sold in other markets as the 2009 model year Renault Koleos. At the QM5’s launch, the CEO of the Renault-Samsung joint-venture, CEO Jean-Marie Hurtiger, described the car as being “invented by Nissan, styled by Renault and built in South Korea.’’ Nissan of course provided the running gear for the new car, donating the chassis of its Qashqai crossover. It features a part-time 4WD system, which can send 100% of torque to the rear wheels if the system detects any slip but in normal conditions it will remain FWD. The SUV will be manufactured at a plant in Busan, South Korea, and will be available with either a 173hp 2.0L turbodiesel or a more powerful 2.5L petrol engine borrowed from Nissan. |
