Yeah, I should've noticed that...

Anyway I took a look at their M3 and C 63 first drives and based on them I believe C 63 has the upper hand...

Re: C63 AMG vs E92 M3 (AutoCar)

Autocar has already dissed the new M3 but who knows, it might not be the same carjournalist.
I think Autocar ranked RS4 over the new M3 in previous test too so its going to be tough for the bimmer.

EDIT: C63 beat the M3 in this Autocar comparison.....

No link, I typed it out from the magazine.

What slightly worries me, living in the UK with our bad roads, is that the M3 has softer suspension than the C63 with the sport suspension and rides better he says.. and this test was in Germany. The problem is the LSD only comes with the sports pack with the harder suspension. Ideally for the UK I think the LSD and 19inch wheels with the softer suspension would be the best all round package.

By the way, he rates the 7 speed auto highly due to the blips on downshifts etc. He used to long term test the old C55 wagon so he has a good base to compare. The tester also has an M3 on order so no bias either way.

Very nice, looks like we do have a genuine alternative to M3. Kudos to AMG.

As for the blips, that is just stupid. Automatics don't need blips. They serve absolutely no function in an automatic besides sounding good and burning more fuel. The purpose of a 'blip' is to match the engine speed with the car speed, in an automatic, the torque converter does that.

It is almost criminal that a car that good doesn't have a better transmission.
