Disappointed with his E63 and selling the car!

He bought the E63 to see how well it did on 402 m. Just because it didnt fullfill his expections he is now selling the car. Thats crazy. Is that only thing he does with his cars. I would never sell my E63 because its not fast on 402m. I care about the whole package but apparently not everyone.

"Brand new, flint grey, ventillated seats and all the other options; never raced, broken-in in the most gentle way possible.

First, the good news. The car feels much more responsive, steering inputs are deliberate, brakes seem stronger and I'm willing to bet this car would do great on a road course.

Unfortunately, we were on the drag strip tonight where the car didn't do well. Best run was 13.01 @ 108.84 mph. Launching is super easy with the reduced torque. The best 60' time was 2.03 on the stock Contis.

Overall, it felt weaker down low than the E55 and weaker up top than the
M5. With all that being said, I LOVE the new "Max Cool" button on the AC controls--no more dialing it down one degree at a time."

I've noticed that all new E63 owners cry for the monster torque that E55 had/s... It's somehow stupid when you only see power, torque and straightline acceleration in a car...

Re: Disappointed with his E63 and selling the car!

If my source is correct, the reason Merc replaced the E55 with E63 is not to improve performance but to meet future emission requirements - it was difficult to meet them with the supercharged engine. In the US, a certain percentage of cars every manufacturer sells has to meet certain emission requirements. And merc is using that % for the SL55 which also explains why it didn't get the 63 engine with the face lift like the rest of them.

On a side note, I saw the face lifted non-AMG E, and it looked cheap with the pointed front and some chrome bars supporting the fog lights - looked very Korean. Kind of sucks cause I loved the E before the face lift.

Re: Disappointed with his E63 and selling the car!

What an idiot. This guy is selling his car because it doesn't go fast enough for him in a straight line...I'm glad he is getting rid of it because he doesn't deserve it. honestly if all you want is drag worthy then just buy a freakin Mach 1 mustang or a Z28 camaro...idiots.
