E-Class: AMG-Soundsystem

Hi guys! I just found this in the E-Class configurator.

The AMG-Highend-Soundsystem is available for every E-Class (I configurated an E 420 CDI

).

Has anyone of you more information about this special soundsystem? I think, it could be comparable to the BMW-Individual Sound system (but that one costs half as much) - so what is the special thing about this system...

^hmm thats damn interesing..something above harmaan and bose..to challange the B&0 from Audi..
but why AMG?
and what brand is the system?
maybe its that swedish high end brand that said they where on the verge of signing a conract with a german auto maker..

Uhm, it's to combat the BMW Individual audio system mostly I think, as said above.
The Individual Audio System has 16 (!!) speakers and is available in amost every BMW (not sure about 1er, Z4, X3)...

This is much more against the well-known Audi Bang&Olufsen system, than the BMW Individual.

Did not even knew it existed.. Is it like the HarmanKardon Logic 7, or something else?

The B&O is much more recognized, and is the aim of the AMG I think.

I wonder if the U.S. will ever see this? Would be nice. Mercedes, BMWs and Audis should offer these types of things to make them even more unique from your neighbors Audi, BMW or Mercedes. Mercedes really needs to open up the leather color choices on the E and especially C.

This system is coming to the US and is a B&O system.
The speakers are carbon fiber and have AMG logo engraved on them.

But why don't Mercedes sell it as B&O system! In my opinion, this would sound much better then AMG - Sound System!

Must be for the 2009 model year? I would guess they aren't using the B&O name because they don't want to be seen as copying Audi.

What I can't wait to see is the Nav system for the next generation E-Class, reported developed by Apple. INAV anyone?
