Re: Special collectors pens "Starwalker Special Edition" by Mont Blanc this is my favourite. As for the others, i don't like them. I want my pen to look like a pen, not like a picasso painting. Not that they are ugly or not nice, it is me that want my staff to be simply designed. Not overdone. Anyway, i use a pen on daily basis, a Parker one, though, which is very cheap, compared to the ones posted by Roberto. Other than that, i use pencils, my good old Rotring and a Pentel that i recently bought, and for dast daily writing, i use that 0.4 Pilot G-Tech-C4. Great pen.

Re: Special collectors pens These pens are really quite unlikely to ever be used very much ...they are more like jewelery I guess. They are extravagant Giannis ...but they are also quite extraordinary. These manufacturers all produce much simpler and much cheaper pens as well of course. Parker is a very good brand Giannis, they make some excellent pens and some limited editions too. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ![]() Most people here seem to really like Mont Blanc which is an excellent choice I must say -- they do have a large range of very beautiful pens. Here are a few more Limited Edition models. A tribute in honour of Agatha Christie ![]() A pen inspired by the novelist Alexandre Dumas. ![]() A tribute to Franz Kafka. ![]() Imperial Dragon. ![]() ![]() Hommage to Alexander The Great. ![]() ![]() The production-line pens are also extremely desirable. Many models are available as a fountain pen, ball point, fineliner, or pencil. This is the production-line version of Starwalker. Black resin version Fountain Pen, Ball point, Fineliner, and Pencil. ![]() Black rubber and platinum (my brother is the proud owner of one of these) ![]() It really is worth looking at their website, the range is huge. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER Last edited by SDNR; 08-05-2006 at 11:55 AM..

Re: Special collectors pens To be honest with you, I don't know much about pens. My best pen is propably a one made by Cross. It's a ball-point pen but it looks good IMO. Edit: I have this model: A.T. Cross Townsend Black Lacquer ![]() Last edited by bmer; 08-05-2006 at 02:50 PM..

Re: Special collectors pens Those are some nice pens and brings back memories. In 5th grade we were allowed to start using biros istead of penicils and the commanding teacher I had at that time forced us to buy proper ink pens just like those which Roberto has been showing. Funny enough the teacher got fired and today my younger brother who is starting 6th grade in a few weeks haven't had a letter sent home from the school that he is recommend to abandon the good old pencil for a proper ink pen or even a biro.

Re: Special collectors pens Amazing pens, thanks for sharing Roberto! I'd take any one of them but the Hommage a' Nicolaus Copernicus would be an obvious choice due to my stargazing background. Our pens have become such a mass produced consumer item that we don't even buy them anymore but just take from the box at work as we need them that we don't think much of how special some pens actually are. The tips of these pens reminded me of my schooldays when all of us kids had a bottle of ink on our desks and our pens were a slightly shaped wooden stick with a tip like the tips on the pictures in this thread. Without the designs of course. At that time a pen was a much more treasured item: you actually went to the shop to select one that appealed to you. Some nicer pens were also good gift ideas. Anyways, this thread is a nice reminder of how special these items are. Makes me want to find myself a nice pen now....

Re: Special collectors pens I like the Krug by Omas as well. It's a little unusual, and that it is made with the wood that Krug uses for his barrels means that it has a certain authenticity to it that, despite the price, the others lack. They may be finely made, but they are concoctions, in comparison. Still, I suppose that Krug just makes his barrels as he needs, so really it's only one step removed from being the same as the others. Perhaps if they made a pen from the metal or the heat resistant tiles of space shuttles, then it would also be similar. Something that's in limited supply, and that has done something amazing - it went into space. As it is, these pens certainly are something I would hardly use. If I had something like that, I'd want to keep it in as good condition as possible! Usually I use either a fairly cheap Parker ballpoint (stainless steel with rubber grip) at home, or, when out, I use whatever's cheap and available - I have become used to Papermate Kilometrico ballpoint biros, not sure if they have them overseas.
