Interior design: E Class / 5 Series / A6

So what do you guys think, who does it best?

Mercedes-Benz E Class

BMW 5 Series

Audi A6

Personally, for me it's the Audi, even if it is a little unimaginative.

I think you summed it up quite nicely.
The Audi is definitely my favourite as well.

Re: Best interior: E Class / 5 Series / A6

I like the A6 interior the best, but I think the layout sucks and should be the same as in the A8. Having the volume knob on the opposite side of the driver (evident on left and right hand drive models) is purely ridiculous in my view.

E-Class for me. The 5-series has strange lines all over it. While the A6 interior is orientated towards the driver which is nice but the buttons, knobs and turn dial look very packed.

Re: Best interior: E Class / 5 Series / A6

It depends what someone prefers. Seeing the interiors IRL helps a lot by making an opinion.

For me E-class interior is a typical "Neo-Baroque" style: shiny, kitschy, curvy. I can imagine 65-year old Hans and his 60-year old wife Helga in that car, driving to the opera. For old peopl's taste, or the younger who prefer rich conservative and over-decorated pure luxury design.

A6 interior is a (starnge?) mix of old & new. Kind a "Art Nouveau" style. Combining some elements of 90's interior design with a new technology, and from the tech derived design elements. It's the safest way, the most evolutional, simple, stylish - for medicore people, and for people who do not want rich design: classic neo-baroque of MB, or modern avantgarde one of BMW.

5er interior is pure modern avantgarde - kind a "Deconstruction" style. Complex design, many different lines & surfaces, very dynamic, over-styled. Not for everyone. Mostly for young (at heart) & dynamic people who like to experiment & do not affraid to be different. And for those design enthusiasts, who like the fresh ideas.

We have 3 very different approaches: classic (MB), neo-classic (Audi), modern (BMW). Very good for the consumers. A lot of choices.

For me? 5er of course.

Re: Best interior: E Class / 5 Series / A6

I'm an interior freak and see the interior of cars the same way I look at interior of houses. Qualitywise the A6 stands out and even without sitting inside the car and touching the interior one can see sense it's top notch quality.
The 5er has a very modern looking interior but it is simply too sterile for my taste, and the fact that you can't get the whole dash in beige(or the same colour as the rest of the interior) bugs me.
Finally we have the E-class interior which might not be as superb put together as the A6 interioe but there's something I like about it. With its curvs and smooths lines the interior feels so down to earth. It makes me feel so calm and comfortable.

I am a bimmer fanatic but i have to admit that new audi interiors are the true successors of the legendary BMW style, simple elegant functionnal, sporty and perfectly made.

Re: Best interior: E Class / 5 Series / A6

A6
E Class
5 series

The 5 series is by far the worst. And the benz one is the nicest looking with all its toys but overall the audi interior is the best because of the high quality materials and fit and finish.

the 5 series cant really hold a candle to the a6.

The A6 makes me want to puke, to be honest.
