Does this mean that DCX plays a roll in the interior designs of Mercedes-Benz
just because thay have a profit in the company?! If we don`t have details
as to where DCX is invested within Mercedes than this "American influence" in design is just an opinion. We have no facts here.

I really don`t see the American influence. I do see a little glamour but even that is really toned and checked in a technical German mannor.

2006 Cadlliac STS interior to check "American influence factor" in Mercedes-Benz.

Even in black the "Bling Bling" factor in the Cadlliac is really High!!

Re: Best interior: E Class / 5 Series / A6

5er definitely has the most unique interior and if you've ever spent any time in the 5, youll see that its definitely purpose oriented towards the driver but also, the interior has very similar design Q's as the exterior. The lines follow throughout the car and creates a flowing, very business like interior. It certainly isnt warm and fuzzy. Those pictures however dont do the 5 interior justice. The A6's interior is nice but a little boring, I do like the black leather though. The MBs interior looks comfortable but also boring.

Re: Best interior: E Class / 5 Series / A6

I wonder how come the new Volvo S80 wasn`t included in this thread.
It was created to compete in this segment. I like some elements about this interior better than the A6. It has the "form follows function theme" like the Audi but is more unique. It does lack the sophistcation of the German makes a little though.

Re: Best interior: E Class / 5 Series / A6

Sat in all 3 and I'm really not a fan of any of them. Audi has by far the best build quality(of course), but they're very unexciting, uneventful, and that's a shame since these cars are suppose to be a cut above.

I do agree with you there Deutsch, none of these cars are dream-cars - they probably represent the most conservative market segment.

The Volvo S80 has a very nice and stylish interior. Also it looks to be better quality than 5 series and E class.

Re: Best interior: E Class / 5 Series / A6

Despite the fact that thread starter has chosen worst possible pic of 5 series, brand new of FL E class and probably one of the best of Audi, i choose 5 series. Not that combo of course, but the one i own. Black leather and satine chrome. After that Audi and last the E class. BMW and Audi simply suit my taste better.

HA, give me a break - it was not my intention to make any of the interiors look better or worse - Tycoon, if you can post a better picture of the BMW's interior, then I will gladly put it on the first post ......it was not a conspiracy against BMW.
