Re: Canon vs. Nikon Haha, very funny picture! Did you take that? Well, I can tell you that Canon is winning on the sports field, I know that 90% of the sports photographer are using Canon, every sports game I go to I see only few photogs are using Nikkon sometimes I see non of them but all Canon user. The fact is that Canon are making better lens to fulfill sports photog's need, they just produced two prime lens that fit to the basketball photography field so well, the Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM and the other one is Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM, each lens is about $1,800 USD, they are also perfect for portrait and wedding photogs. Not that the Nikkon doesn't but the demanding aren't as high as Canon does. Also I kind of get the feeling that Nikkon is going trows compact digital field, they are aiming at the general user that's what I think. Here's a really good site that reviews all the Canon lenses: For prime: - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER For zoom: - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Re: Canon vs. Nikon My dad says for video recording (for TV viewing), Sony is the only trusted brand always used. I wonder how true that since they are relatively absent in the digital camera scene. ![]()

Re: Canon vs. Nikon Let's just say Sony isn't as good as it used to be when it was "Made in Japan". Nowadays Sony are made from all different places and yes Singapore is one of them hehe :P The only Sony that still made in Japan are actully stays in Japan.

Re: Canon vs. Nikon Another thing, the QC in Japan are so much better than the stuff that they made outside of Japan, Sony is a perfect example. Most of the Japanese manufacturers are reside their factory in China now.

Re: Canon vs. Nikon Canon has been winning the battle on the sports field long before the digital era ...the problems started for Nikon in 1989 when they launched their first professional AF camera, the F4 -- it had a terribly inferior AF system compared to the EOS1. Nikon overlooked the crucial importance of auto-focus and concentrated on its Matrix Metering (the F4 was the first camera to have Nikon's Matrix Metering). Meanwhile, Canon's EOS1 was faster, lighter, and cheaper than its Nikon counterpart.
