Canon shipped 6.1 million units to the US while Nikon shipped 3 million. That's a huge differnce!

Canon are really on a roll... nikon are doing well in there SLR Dept but need to push there entry level cams harder...

guess there is nothing stopping canon as this year they introducing about 4-5 New SLR Cameras and a few top end Cameras eg S4is etc...

I have a Nikon and have been a Nikon fan for a long time.

I am sorry to say, I don't think Nikon will catch up. The companies are not even the same size. For the amount of units Nikon ships it is actually very good. As a matter of fact, I read somwhere that the proportions of units per company size that both of them ship is about the same. So, in the end Nikon doesn't have much to catch up on other than continue making good products. I like Canon a lot don't get me wrong.
