Evo reviews the C63

A member of mbworld has received the November issue of Evo. Here are some quotes from the Evo article about the C63:

"In a 4 door saloon this sort of energy feels monstrous......rapid, unstressed, utterly linear manner all the way to the 7200rpm limiter, as 120mph appears from nowhere. Overtakes snap your head back & corners arrive so rapidly that fast sweepers can begin to look a bit tight. It is a seriously, seriously quick car. There are no traction issues either .

It just demolishes roads. Throw the car at a sequence of corners & it moves as one through them, front & rear ends in unison. Grip is huge. It's ground covering ability is up there with the Subarishis.

The C63 has undoubtedly sealed its place alongside the M3 & RS4. No longer is it the obvious bronze medal of the trio. But has it beaten them? In terms of looks, yes. From A to B as quickly as possible, yes. The most enjoyable car....no, not quite. The paddle shift still isn't quite beyond reproach, particularly next to the Bimmer's fantastically slick manual. And brilliant & impressive though the C63's chassis is, the malleability of the BMW still shines through & gets the nod.

Oh, and if I wanted to transport 1500 litres of stuff & have coat hooks on the tailgate? Then yes, I'd have a C63 AMG, because the estate should reach us at the same time as the saloon next summer."

Star rating 4.5 out of 5 (massive power, crushing pace)

Seems like the same sort of thing as before.....the M3 is still the driver's machine that is more fun to drive. Can't wait to read an actual comparison test.

Hopefully somebody will scan the entire article so we can read the whole thing.

Re: Evo reviews the C63

^yeah i read that to.. i didnt want to post it before we had the test...

but anyways..

ITS NOT LIKE BEFORE..lol

PS
the verdict is super good.. the 2 things they complain about is
the gearbox.. wich will be fixxed when the DSG arrives..
and then they say that the M3s chassi has one up ..
And that imo is not a bad thing.. cause the M3 kinda rules

Re: Evo reviews the C63

Read the review last night at a local bookstore, I haven't seen a car impress the critics like this since the B7 RS4! I'm a still reserve my final opinion on the C63 when it's compared against the B7 RS4 and the E90 M3, when ever that will be...

I'm pretty sure the pics were new, I remember one pic that showed the sun setting in the backround. It was funny, I was flicking though the magizine and realized one of the pages had a E92 M3, B7 RS4, and a C63 on it! I couldn't turn back fast enough, thinking it was a comparison of the three. What they did was post a comparison between the RS4 and M3, and the very next article was on the C63, so atleast you get to see all three together basically!

Re: Evo reviews the C63

No, this is definitely a new article. I bought the issue where they tested the M3 and had the M3 vs RS4 comparison. The C63 article in that old issue is just an introduction about what the C63 will be like and so forth.

This newer article is coming in the Nov. issue of Evo, where they actually drove the car. The fact that they have a 4.5 out of 5 star rating confirms this.
