Front Reflector question Hi all, I just came upon this German Car Zone site for the first time this morning and really enjoying reading everyones comments and thoughts. Nice job everyone... but I have a question.. I currently have a '03 Boxster S and love it. I am happy to say that I just put my deposit down on a '08 Boxster S and am counting down the seconds (literally :~)) until it arrives in Feb. I test drove the S at the dealer and there really is a huge difference in feel, speed, tightness, handling, smell :~) and overall sensation in the new breed! However, I have a question maybe someone out there might know.. I'm not crazy about those orange front fender side reflector/lights. I don't understand why Porsche wouldn't have used clear ones to better match the other lenses on the car?? Does anyone know if they are inter-changeable to clear ones as I see on other models. Anyone else share my thoughts on this?? btw.. here are my specs/options Meteor Gray Black Interior Full Leather interior Power Seats (had to have lumbar!!) Heated Seats Bi-Xenon 19" Carrera S wheels Wheel caps w/colored crest Bose high end sound pkg floor mats int. color Windstop deflector Sport steering wheel in smooth leather Roll Bar painted ext. color Exterior Trim painted ext. color (Side intake vents and front bumper vents) couldn't feel much difference with the sport chrono...so dumped that and I would have liked to have the navigation, but for over $3K bucks... thought that was rediculous...in addition... poor technology and primitive turn knobs, etc... just wasn't impressed... I'll go buy top of line Garmen or Tom Tom. Last edited by GCB; 12-19-2007 at 02:00 PM..

Re: Front Reflector question Thanks for joining, and congrats on your new purchase.... I think the color of the reflectors are mandated by law, but if your asking about preference, id preffer clear.... have fun, enjoy your times here.

Re: Front Reflector question Thanks again, but I know I have seen other (new models) with white/clear reflectors. Particularily '07 Targa... I just wonder if its interchangeable.

Re: Front Reflector question Hey GCB, First of all congrats on your purchase. I am currently living in the US. From my understanding the front orange reflectors are required on all vehicles by law as Alx mentioned. In my book that ruins the entire front of any car, be it a Boxster S or a GTI. But I've seen many Porsche cars here with the clear reflectors, so I'm pretty sure they are interchangeable. I think you have to specifically tell your dealer that you want the clear ones and in that case you'd bear any legal responsibility. The best way would be to ask your dealer though.

Re: Front Reflector question Cool!.... I got the answer back from my dealer regarding the orange markers. Here's what they said; "The clear markers are not available from the factory for U.S. bound cars. However, you can purchase the clear ones from our parts department for around $60 and I can install them for you. They are perfectly legal in Arizona. They definitely look better" Well thats good to know.....
