My take on how the E90's design relates to it's predecessors is that it looks far more like the E36 than the E46. I'd love to see some side by sides of the E90 and E36.

Great looking car. I would imagine also that this one would be accepted from the start more universally than the 7's and the 5's when they first came out. Now of course most everybody likes the designs.
