Re: BMW M6 Cabrio Hmmm....you know I really have to come out and say that BMW is charging a numerous amount for these cars. Nevertheless, I guess it seems justified. If you lower the price of any one of these M's--which seem to be in some sort of hierarchical sequence--you risk having a specific M lose sales to another M. For example, if the M6 Cabrio is lowered to the price of the M6 coupe, then you risk having people want a Cabrio over a coupe. I am aware that many here would not opt for that, even if the price was the same, however, you need to understand that not all consumers are as informed as we are. In addition to this it seems that BMW must keep things in balance. Take a look at the current 650i and the 650i cabrio. The cabrio is more expensive than the coupe for reasons of engineering and costs. The reinforcement of the car itself is expensive.

Re: BMW M6 Cabrio BMW's are slightly more expensive. A lot of the price hike comes from expensive options, take for instance folding rear seats on the 3er, their cost is $475 while on the other hand many other cars have that feature as std. For whatever reason BMW believes you need shell out big bucks for the small things. Worth it if you can afford it.

Re: BMW M6 Cabrio Cabrio will be more expensive to build than M6 coupe. And the price will reflect that. M GmbH have done a grate job on lightweight construction of M6 cabrio. The M6 Cabrio uses carbon fibre in the crossframes - this is not only saving weight but adds greater torsional stiffness: making the car almost as rigid as the Coupe, and so not affecting the cabrio's overall performance and dynamics as much - despite having no permanent roof.

Re: BMW M6 Cabrio I've always liked the 6er Cabrio over the Coupe. The 6er Coupe looks great, but love the 6er Cabrio with the top down. ..and nothing's changed when it comes to their respective M versions. I didn't really like the M6 Coupe (design wise) for two reasons. Firstly, the styling wasn't as aggressive as I had hoped for. The car had an aggressive engine, an aggressive shape (ie: coupe) and past M's had look aggressive, but the M6 Coupe didnt have the aggression I thought it would. Secondly, those wheels. I still don't really like them on the Coupe.. but that's just how I am I guess. BUT the M6 Cabrio... it isn't supposed to look aggressive, IMO, it's supposed to be a show-car.. to drive around slowly showing urself off, and at private moments pushing the pedal down to remind you it's an M. Therefore, the styling of the car really suits it. The smile of the car suits it much better than the M6 Coupe, and damn that rear deck looks gorgeous with the top down..!! For some reason, with the top down, the M6 wheels look perfect on the M6 Cabrio..but top up and I get that same 'icky' feeling I do with the M6 Coupe. Overall... I easily prefer this car over its Coupe sibling. I ain't fused about a fractional loss in body torsion due to no roof.. or the extra price range.. coz I aint gonna be a buyer... just an admirer and fan! Finally I can say I love the M6 without using any ' but's ' in my post. ![]()
