. It’s been a gradual process. I've slowly become less enchanted with the current range of MB vehicles and the general state the company is in. The desirability of BMW on the other hand really has skyrocketed. The designs are dynamic and boundary pushing, and with the right wheel combos rather breathtaking. Also I must admit that until these last two years, I had very little experience with driving BMW's. But now I know, the cars really are brilliant to drive. Turbine like engines combined with brilliant handling and a decent ride make them winners in my book.I guess I currently identify with the more youthful sporty image of BMW compared to MB's more conservative, and somewhat staid, image. From the cars I’ve driven: our E320 < 530i - MB is on top for ride and comfort, but the bmw is not far behind. Engine refinement wallops the E as does the handling and interior/exterior design. SLK > Z4 - I've never been a fan of the Z4's styling, but at least it hasn’t become boring in 2 years like the SLK has. That said I found the SLK to be the better overall package. 120i < B200 - No contest. If practicality is your thing, get the B. For absolutely everything else the one is unbeatable. our CLK240 < Outgoing 325Ci - We ended up with the CLK because my parents both loved the design of the vehicle. That said, as a sports car its dynamics and performance were notably behind the BMW. Also while the CLK can look somewhat effeminate, the BMW still looks to this day modern and muscular. The new one will crush the CLK no doubt. Sorry for the loooong reply. NOW someone must know when the facelift is due!!! ![]() | |

| Re: 1er pic thread At the moment I'm thinking of getting a 1 within the next 6-12 months. Its not a certainty, but just an idea im tossing around in my head. So I'd just like to know when a facelift would be expected. I'd hate to buy a car and then have an update come out a few months after. |
