Will customers be willing to pay extra money for this super quality? All depends on segment. Eg. RR produced recently a customized ~ $ 1 million worthy Phantom for a wealthy Chinese (or it was Indian?) customer. Same case with technical solutions: sometimes they are impossible to execute due laws of physics, sometimes the costs will be way to high, and it is not worthy to produce such solutions. I'm sure BMW are able to design & produce even better interiors than Audi, and Audi can develop & produce a car with much better driving dynamics than comparable BMW - but like I said: money is the most important factor here (and physics). ![]() | |

Especially one from BMW showcasing its future trends of its top-dollar models. BMW has taken inspiration from the competition and made a far more aggressive design that is beyond any car in production today. ![]() |

He is still THE design guru in BMW AG. ![]() He is the one who picks the designs & presents them to the Board of Directors, and advocates the designs - and try to persuade BoD why to choose this or that design. Bangle makes a selection, while BoD picks the final design(s). Others - eg. chief of BMW Automobile design, chief of BMW Automobile exterior design, chief of BMW Automobile interior design, chief of design projects - are more like operative frontline: leading day-today design process, organizing things, meeting with engineers constantly etc. But regarding the design nothing goes over Bangle. He is still the one with crazy ideas, the one who motivates (not only the designers, but also engineers and managers), he is that special sparkle in the BMW AG. Mind that Reitzle brought Bangle to BMW AG due his motivational & organizational abilities, and due having a vision - not so much due his design ideas. Ritzle never liked Bangles design path (found it too American), and they often disagree. But when Reitzle was fired the "American clique" prevailed in BMW AG design department. All the next development chiefs have left design decisions to Bangle & designers - not interfering in design process & design details like Reitzle did. ![]() |

| Re: BMW Concept CS [Hi-res] The funny thing is, that BMW fans bashed Mercedes when they launched the CLS "Four-door-coupé". Now it's funny to see divided BMW fans; those who are all for the CS Four-door-coupé to reach the production line and those who don't want to see it. Even funnier are those who says Bangle is a mad man, and those who says Bangle is a genius. I hope I haven't stirred any rage feeling on the folks in this thread...specially the Bimmer fans. |
