Ford: FPV Cobra 404hp

While we wait for Ford to let the SVT gang loose on one of the Oval's US-market sedans, it's business as usual in Australia, where the awesome can't be stopped, and the current-gen FPV Falcon isn't going away quietly. Today's evidence: the just-announced FPV Cobra, a limited-edition Boss 302-powered tire incinerator that comes in both sedan and ute form. (Oh, the Boss 302 moniker stands for 302 kilowatts, not cubic inches, btw.) All Cobras are white with blue stripes, and the 5.4L Boss 302 V8 dishes out 404 horses and 398 lb-ft of torque. All that juice is directed aft via a standard 6-speed manual or a ZF 6-speed auto that's available at no additional cost.

Other baubles include standard leather, spiffy 19" wheels, Brembos (which can be further upgraded as well), all the expected badging, and in the case of the sedan, FPV's track-ready - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER suspension. Total Cobra production is limited to 500 vehicles, with 4-doors outnumbering utes 400 to 100. Pricing will start at $65,110 AUD for the sedan and $61,200 AUD for the ute. In other news, US customers have the new Focus to look forward to, which looks almost as cool as this Aussie Cobra, assuming you're wearing a blindfold.

Thanks mate for keeping the interest in Aussie cars alive in this forum.
Ford should have done this for their 40th anniversary model, or when Holden released the VE series of the HSV Commodore last year. I hope this is the 1st positive step for Ford to close the performance gap between themselves and HSV.

The name of this car is a bit stupid if you ask me, I think Ford is the only company in the world which can have a car called the Falcon and the Cobra together. Anyway I think BMW_Owner will agree with me, this FPV is dam fine.

looks great... i think i actually prefer this to the HSV GTS which is a great looking car

The orion falcon and FPV are going to be great... i have a great feeling about them

Ford Performance Vehicles announced the special-edition Cobra GT sedan and ute before the start of the Bathurst enduro yesterday. The new Cobra models run an upgraded version of the 5.4-litre Boss V8 engine, with an extra 12kW and 20Nm of torque, for a total of 302kW and 540Nm.

The Cobra cars are available with a six-speed manual or ZF six-speed automatic.
Pricing starts at $61,200 for the Cobra Ute and rises to $65,110 for the Cobra GT sedan
