Audi S4 / RS4 (B8) - Spy pics & info.

I don't know if this is a repost or not.
If it is- could one of the Administrators /Moderators close the thread.

According to MotorTrend, Audi is working on a more powerful 2008 Audi RS4 that will produce 450 horsepower. The new Audi RS4 joins Mercedes, with its 2008 450 horsepower C63 AMG, to take on the new 420 horsepower BMW - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.

What do you guys think about the validity of this rumour/story?

Won't Audi stop A4 B7 body production when B8 is out this fall / next spring?

I doubt B7 RS4 will still be built after B8 body production starts. So, making an up-tuned RS4 for only few last months of production makes no sense.

Now for more good news: Audi wants 450 horsepower for the next RS4, despite tightened European CO2 standards. That challenges BMW, which worked to get 420 horses out of its new M3 V-8, up from an expected 400. Mercedes-Benz is in this game too, with its C63 AMG (see horsepower in our "First Drive" story, page 70). The next RS4 will bow at least a year after the new A4-or fall of 2008 at the earliest.

I forgot to say that according to some inside info Audi is already working on the RS5 which will make debut sometime in 2008.

RS4/RS5 both will have a twin turbo 4.2 lt V8. The output will be around 450-480 hp.

450-480 is a healthy figure. We don't want too much turbo lag especially when BMW and MB have chosen the NA path.

So you reckon the B8 will be fast tracked and the B7 stopped this year or so?
