Re: Grade the new S3

Okay. There is only one thing I'm disapointed with here, and that's the amount of hp. I think that Audi should have gone with the 3.2 litre DSG highrev-engine and put out 300hp.

But, what I am absolutely sold on is the looks. Everything is just so perfect. The design, that front...the interior quality. It really sends its opponents back to basics.

I really hope that there was a good reason for using the 2.0T engine, due to the weight reduction, so I guess the car will handle like the last Audi models, RS4, S8, S6 etc, which has only got positive comments from the testdrivers.

When I'm looking at that car, I really can not give anything else then a 5...

Re: Grade the new S3

Both exterior and interior are great but i will give it a 4 out of 5 cause RS3 (if one will be made) will get a 5/5.

BTW don't be fooled by the low hp , Mistubishi EVO was tested along with M5 by a Greek magazine and was faster in track despite having 200 hp less.

Re: Grade the new S3

It's not bad. The interior is standard issue sports-Audi, nice but nothing special. It's quite well resolved and cohesive in design, but it's not superlative.

Performance should be ok. I have few concerns about that part. I don't expect 0-100 times to be anything - but I'll wait for tests and comments about the dynamic aspects.

Exterior looks, well, I liked the squared-off front bumper style of the RS4 more than this new curvier and flared look. The wheels, side skirts and rear bumper (why do they always make the 'diffuser simulator panel' body coloured and not black?) are also nothing new.

I'm tossing between 3 and 4, but it's nothing amazing, and I wasn't that much of a fan of the A3 anyway - not the 3-door, certainly, and the 5-door didn't impress me that much either. It's a little small.

So 3 it is.

Yeah but how much does this S3 weigh? The engine has amazing tuning potential, but according to the press release the torque is already at the limit for the transmission.

Re: Grade the new S3

I gave it a 3, almost 4.

Great looking front. Rear looks pretty dated imo. Interior is going to be top notch as usual.
However, for 35,000 Euros, I think there might be possibly better buys. Or better suited for me anyway.

Re: Grade the new S3

(I can't understand Audis S-cars and the story behind it)

Anyway:
It can't get 5 because it's not an RS! 4 for Audi was my vote!

All the pic's of the car today is just ok, but I know when you see this new S3 in your fav. colour in real life, you just have to smile! and say... Yes it's a good looking Sport car!

BTW: great looking front! the back must be better on the RS.
& when the SB comes Oh, I love it allready! (RS)

Nope, I'd not say that the S3 is extraordinary - but it is pretty cool. It's one classy hyperhatch.
