| 9ff GT9 Nearing Completion ![]() Targetting the Veyron H&R is known the world over for their sport suspension and chassis components, as well as maintaining a prominent sponsoring presence with many motorsport teams. It is safe to say that H&R is a company on a mission. Back in August 2006 during a six hour endurance race at Nurburgring which ended in an early accident, the Mission 400 Plus project, was born. The foundation of the - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER project saw a cooperation between H&R and RS Tuning to build a record breaking 400 km/h street legal sports car. Later that year the 1054hp Porsche 911 Turbo prototype was presented at the Essen Motor Show. Simultaneously, the 9ff engineers in Dortmund have been working hard on their own 400+ Porsche GT9 project. This 910+ hp Porsche 911 Turbo should, in theory, be able to beat the Veyron by 1,5 km/h in regards to top speed, but we won't find out until the GT9 actually hits the track at Nardo later this year. The official presentation of the GT9 will take place some time after Frankfurt. After an initial surge of interest in these two projects, a new tidbit of information has sparked our curiosity once again. H&R has become a main sponsor of the 9ff GT9 while cutting its losses with RS Tuning. It is not entirely clear why H&R jumped ship, but rest assured the Veyron record will be challenged. Also, two new images of the GT9 have surfaced! So stay tuned and let the speculating begin... will the Veyron be dethroned? | Re: 9ff GT9 Nearing Completion 9FF Porsche GT9 supercar nears production ![]() Engineers at 9ff have the Bugatti Veyron clearly in their sights with their new Porsche GT9 set to enter the record books as the world’s fastest production car with a claimed top speed in excess of 407km/h (250mph). As far as production cars go, the GT9 is about as exclusive as it gets, with only 20 examples expected to see the light and each priced at €592,620 ($853,634). Although the car is loosely based on a Porsche 911, its mechanical package has been totally revised. Ditching the 911’s rear-engine layout, 9ff engineers created a custom mid-mounted engine design utilizing the tuner’s twin-turbo 4.2L flat-six engine. The 911 GT3 body, on which it’s based, has also been stretched by 300mm and has had the roof lowered by 120mm to maximize downforce at high speeds. Thanks to carbon-fiber and Kevlar construction, the entire vehicle will weigh in at just 1,326kg. The car was recently on display at the Essen Motor Show in Germany, where officials revealed some of the final specs. The engine features titanium con-rods and forged pistons, which was necessary to handle the 987hp output. Peak torque of 964Nm falls between 5,970 and 7,850rpm. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER |
