Porsche 911 GT2 to debut in Frankfurt

Quote:
The Porsche 911 GT2, which is lighter and faster than the Turbo, is expected to make its debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. With a 3.6 liter boxter twin-turbo engine, the Porsche 911 GT2 produces 525 horsepower, giving it the ability to do 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 200 mph.

From the images you can see that the Porsche 911 GT2 has a huge rear wing, cooling ducts on the rear bumper and large air intakes in the front.

The car is expected to arrive in Europe in early 2008 with a price tag of £120,000.

Re: Porsche 911 GT2 to debut in Frankfurt

You see this is scary..

The 997 generation GT3 can already out slalom the Carrera GT and match it through many of the corners on the Hockenhiem and N 'Ring.

I have no doubts the GT2 will be able too, but with the GT2 you'll also be getting near CGT performance.

Re: Porsche 911 GT2 to debut in Frankfurt

I've read about the 525hp figure before, that must be it. Since it has been rolloing around on the roads without camo my guess is that official pictures will be presented in the coming 8 weeks.

Audi4Life will become famous soon enough
Re: Porsche 911 GT2 to debut in Frankfurt

somehow it think it will be able to go 0-60 in less than 4.5 seconds...About .1 or .2 seconds slower than the 911 Turbo because it is RWD..but still 4.5 is a little slow.

I wouldn't worry about it because the 996 GT2 constantly clocked 0-60 figures under the 4.0 second mark.

Re: Porsche 911 GT2 to debut in Frankfurt

This must be the highlight of this year. After the official unveiling of the Zonda R.

This car will seriously kick ass. I'm sure Porsche could've made it better than the Carrera GT, and it probobly will be in alot of ways.

Re: Porsche 911 GT2 to debut in Frankfurt

The car's a beast. 525 hp in a 911!? I think a sub four second 0-60 mph time is more than realistic. Maybe they meant 0-60 in 3.5 secs?
