Well obviously it won't be this squarish, but this CGI is hot IMO. If the CS/8-Series looks like this count me in.

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

the CS designs are really a huge departure to traditional BMWs..headlights no longer look like a BMW and everything is roundy again...:s not sure if i like it, and i can't really accept those huge kidney grilles.. well perhaps bmws 'should' look like this in the future for those who are young now.. I don't mind the 7series looking a bit special though.

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

I pray BMW doesn't go in this direction with the next 7-Series, the current one isn't that attractive but this is !
Such a design would better suit a sports car.

Every design which implements the following BMW design trademarks is typical / traditional BMW design:
  • quad round headlight projectors
  • twin kidney grille
  • Hofmeister kink in C-pillar
  • L-shaped tail lights
  • RWD proportions (short front overhang, green house pushed far back)
  • BMW badge
Additional supporting design trademarks:
  • driver oriented cockpit
  • aggressive looking shark-like fascia

How these designs trademarks are executed, and implemented it's a matter of particular design trends & design philosophy of particular era.

So, every car with implemented interpretations of most BMW design trademarks is a traditional BMW.

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

I found the attached pics on this site :
- ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

They show (probably) part of the original rear lights.
Unfortunately the rest of the camo is still on...Maybe the real front is visible on this prototype (just like on the recent Z4 shots ) . Hopefully someone will catch it from the front soon....
Its about time the F01 shows us its real face after all this time..

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

I'm really hoping we get a much better looking 7-Series this time around. The current one is the first 7 that in history that I didn't like.

Re: F01 BMW 7er - first spy pics

The current 7 series is great imo.... drove one today and will post a personal reviews within days... but yes i do think the next generation will be more of a home run in the design aspect going by what we have seen and no so far
