| Could an M7 be on the way? Sounds like Panky wants to do battle with what he calls "the fire breathing S63 AMG" if the market demands it. - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER |

There could be a possibility of a high-performance version of the V12 BMW already have inthe 760i/iL ....but just this whole idea of a M7 based off the current 7 series sounds a bit fishy. I think BMW would be concentrating more on developing that hybrid engine rumoured for the current 7er. I think an M7 for the next generation of the 7er is going to happen.. but not off the current platform. Not say I don't want to see one... I'd sure love to see what M could do with the 7er, but in the end, no amount of electronic stabilisers and blah blah blah could really turn the current 7er into something that delivers on M's philosophy. * Now as for the baby Rolls Royce. Hmmm.. that i think could well be a posibility...but that wouldn't happen any time soon since they're already busy developing that drop-top. But it sure would be a good idea.. something like a Bentley CGT size and price range. ![]() | ||

| Re: Could an M7 be on the way? I also think BMW might have an M7 version for the next generation 7er. We really don`t have too long before this version is phased out. Last edited by GTA8.5; 04-07-2006 at 06:05 PM.. |

| Re: Could an M7 be on the way? No M7 of E65. F01 - maybe. Btw, the media & bloggers have skewed Panke's words. Here is the direct translation from quoted AMS interview: Are BMW going to join "the horsepower war"? E.g. rightnow BMW offer no alternative to Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG. Panke: You are right: we have never offered M-version in the 7-series model line - but in the US there are many people wondering why not. This is the issue we'll have to deal with in the future. But no decision have been taken yet. I also think that in the future "the powerplay" will not be only about the HP numbers. |
