It should be called Variable Turbine Geometry, or Variable Vane Technology, or Turbine, or some such combination. Same idea, different name, like variable valve timing's various names.

It shouldn't have anything to do with sequential turbos..

Yeah, VW's new 1.4 TSI (Twincharger) idea is innovative, IMO. Makes the best of both forced induction methods. More power and better economy than a 2.0FSI engine, I think.
