Have you heard of Solanoid Valve Timing. I think the idea has been around for a while but hasnt actually formed.

Its basically a solaniod around a valve that sends a positiev or negative signal up or down the stem of the valve. This way you no longer need cam shaft. The valve will have a magnet attached to it and the solanoid will send a pulse that can move the valve to become opened or closed. The solanoid would be powered by the battery from relays. You would aso have it hooked up to the CPU of the car so depending on what the driver requests the computer could automatically electrically change the timing of the four valves on each cylinder because they go up and down electrically anyway. The computer would have to be very powerful (like the one on the innovative M5).
